DO NOT STOP BLOWING YOUR TRUMPET!
So, I'm reading Nehemiah 4 and it is when the Jews were rebuilding the walls around Jerusalem. Everyone was against them. Everyone was talking about how they were going to fail. And many were planning to attack them. But the Israelites kept building. They just changed their strategy. Verses 15-23, describes how they did this. They started using one hand to build the wall and the other to hold a weapon to defend the wall that they were building. When I started reading this chapter I immediately thought of Haiti, but especially the Mole. When I read verses 19-20, "...'the work is great and widely spread, and we are separated on the wall, far from one another. In the place where you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us." The Spirit opened my eyes to how this happens today. We are rebuilding Jerusalem( God's Kingdom) in the Mole. Some of the builders are right there-the missionaries who live there, others are a couple miles down from that spot working on another part of the wall-all of the missionaries on the St. Louis campus, and some-like me-are hundreds of miles away from the Mole wall. But through prayer we are using one hand to build the Mole wall and all of the wall around Jerusalem(God's Kingdom) through prayers that ask for God to be revealed, known, and loved. Our other hand we use to defend the wall through prayers that ask God to guard and protect those working on the wall and prayers that ask God to call people out of the darkness and into the Kingdom. The trumpet is sounded whenever the missionaries in the Mole ask people to pray or to give financially for their ministry. They call people to rally at their spot of the wall and believe that "Our God will fight for us."
DO NOT STOP BLOWING YOUR TRUMPET! Not all of us are missionaries that have left our "homes" to serve and bring the Gospel to another country, but we are all missionaries who have been called to finish rebuilding the wall( God's Kingdom). For some of us that means walking across the street to tell our neighborhood about Jesus, others have been called to walk into the other room to share Jesus with their family, and others have been called to countries where they may be killed and tortured for sharing the Gospel. Wherever you may go, keep blowing your trumpet, trusting the "Our God will fight for us" We must rally together whenever our brother or sister has blown their trumpet. We have to surround each other in prayer and support. We need to use one hand to help them build and the other to help them defend against Satan's attacks. We do not need to be afraid of blowing our trumpet. God gave it to us for this very reason. We also must constantly be listening for each others' trumpets, so that we may rally together, trusting that "Our God will fight for us."

What a great encouragement . . . and a great reminder of that which is happening in the heavenly places--as we rally believers to the gaps in the wall, as we pray, as we go. Thanks for a clear trumpet blast today and thanks for the reminder that our God will fight for us. I'm praying for you, today, thanking God for your wholehearted response to his call on your life.
